Cultural Club of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology celebrated Karwa Chauth at its campus in Phase-2, Mohali. Mehndi Competition and pot (karwa) painting competitions were organized on the occasion. Students of MBA, MCA, BBA and BCA participated with full enthusiasm and zeal.
Mrs. Ranjeet Bedi, Founder Principal, Gian Jyoti Global School also joined the students for celebration. Mrs. Bedi judged the competition and declared the winners. In pot (karwa) painting coopetition Ms. Neha, BCA-3 won 1st position; Ms. Shilpa, BBA-1won 2nd position and Ms. Kajal from BCA-3 won 3rd position. In mehndi competition Ms. Rajani of BCA-1 won 1st position; Ms. Prabhjot of MCA-5 won 2nd position and Ms. Kajal of BCA-1 won 3rd position. Participation certificates were also distributed to all participants in the end.
Mrs. Bedi congratulated all the winners and thanked all the participants and cultural club coordinators for organizing the event.
Karwa Chauth is an important Hindu festival celebrated by married women for safety and longevity of their husbands. The festival is celebrated with much fervor in the Northern parts of India especially in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab, Mrs. Bedi Added.
