Orientation Week 2026 – Freshers’ Orientation Programme

Gian Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology (GJIMT) Student Welfare Committee organized a five-day Freshers’ Orientation Programme from 10 to 14 August 2026 to warmly welcome the newly admitted students and provide them with a smooth and engaging transition into college life. The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of freshers from BBA, BCA, MCA, MBA and B.Com programmes, along with active support from faculty members.

The orientation programme covered a diverse range of activities including formal orientation, academic interactions, classroom sessions, interactive games, Treasure Hunt, motivational movie screening, sports and fun activities, fine arts, cultural activities and prize distribution. The activities were designed to familiarize students with the academic environment, institutional practices, student responsibilities and campus life while promoting teamwork, communication, creativity, confidence and healthy competition.

Day 1 focused on Welcome, Reporting and Formal Orientation, where students completed the necessary induction and registration formalities and attended the formal orientation programme. The session provided valuable guidance on academics, discipline, institutional values, career opportunities and the overall student journey at GJIMT.

Day 2 focused on Academic Orientation and Interactive Activities, including regular academic sessions, a Treasure Hunt for Management students and a motivational movie screening of Nil BatteySannata for IT students. The activities encouraged teamwork, communication, problem-solving and goal-oriented thinking. Team 9 emerged as the winning team in the Treasure Hunt.

Day 3 was dedicated to Sports and Fun Activities, featuring Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Kho-Kho, 100-Metre Race, Football, Hockey and Gymnastics–Push-ups. More than 200 students participated in the sports activities, demonstrating enthusiasm, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship. Winners and runners-up in the various sporting categories were recognized with medals.

Day 4 combined regular academic classes with recreational activities, including a motivational movie screening of Nil BatteySannata for Management students and a Treasure Hunt activity for IT students. These activities provided students with an opportunity to interact, relax and develop interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Day 5 concluded the orientation programme with Fine Arts and Cultural Activities, including Face Painting, Clay Modelling, Poster Making, Mehndi, Rangoli, Solo Singing, Solo Dance and Duet Performance. Students enthusiastically showcased their creativity and talents, followed by a Prize Distribution Ceremony recognizing outstanding performances.

The programme successfully created a welcoming, energetic and inclusive environment for the newly admitted students. It helped them become familiar with the academic system, institutional expectations, peers and campus culture while providing opportunities for learning, interaction, creativity, sportsmanship and holistic development.
