Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Camp at GJIMT

Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), Mohali, organized a Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Camp on 29th October 2025, as part of its ongoing community outreach mission. The initiative aimed to promote early detection, preventive care, and women’s health awareness among the local community and GJIMT’s adopted villages under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan of the Government of India.

The event was organized by the NCC, NSS, Rotaract Club, Red Ribbon Club, Women Empowerment Committee, and Fit India Club of GJIMT, in collaboration with Sohana Hospital, Mohali. Special Mammography Vans were stationed at the GJIMT campus for on-site testing, while college buses were deployed to facilitate the participation of women from nearby villages.

A total of 79 women underwent free mammography screening and received expert advice from healthcare professionals on self-examination, prevention, and early diagnosis. The awareness campaign was further amplified through a Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Rally, led by the biker groups Mittran Di Motorcycle Mandli and The Mohan Tigers, spreading the message of timely health check-ups and empowerment across Mohali and the Tricity.
