An ‘Awareness Drive’ based on the theme ‘Fight Against Corona Virus’ was conducted by the volunteers of NCC, NSS & RedRibbonClub of GJIMT.
The drive was conducted as per the directives of Government of Punjab under ‘MissionFateh – Punjab Fights Corona’ campaign. The NCC, NSS & Red Ribbon Club volunteers participated in this drive by launching a door to door campaign where they interacted with the local people while making them aware about the necessary precautions to stay safe and unaffected from corona virus.
The volunteers distributed pamphlets containing all the relevant information regarding corona virus. They also motivated them to download and register with the COVA app on their smartphones, which is an initiative of the State Government to intensify its fight against corona virus and to keep people updated with all the required information.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. J. S. Bedi, Chairman, GJIMT said that it is need of the hour to be aware and make others aware about the challenges which we are facing during COVID-19 pandemic and how we can overcome these while following all the necessary precautions.
Dr. Aneet Bedi, Director, GJIMT also motivated all the volunteers and appreciated their selfless efforts for this noble cause. The entire drive was conducted under the supervision of Lt. Jagvinder Thakur, Programme Coordinator (NSS & NCC), GJIMT.
