GianJyoti Institute of Management and Technology, Mohali organized its 14 th International Conference- GJ IntConMITE – 2020, in the form of a Virtual Panel Discussion on 30 th July 2020. This was the first ever fully online International Conference – Panel Discussion organized by any educational institute in North India. Among the panelists, the keynote speakers were Dr. Puja Chabra Sharma, Professor and Dean (UG), School of Management, IILM University Gurugram, Mr. Shad Ahmad Khan (Ph.D), Assistant Professor & Chair Staff Professional Development, University of Buraimi Al-Buraimi, Sultanate of Oman and Dr. Arjita Jain, Professor and NLP Practitioner, NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management Studies, Nerul, Mumbai, who graced the occasion by discussing and sharing their insights on the topic “Gearing Up for the Black Swan: The New Normal in Management and Technology”.
A large number of participants and delegates joined the conference from various parts of the country as well as globe and actively participated in the panel discussion. Mr. J.S. Bedi, Chairman, Gian Jyoti Group of institutions, Mohali welcomed all the eminent key note speakers, worthy delegates and other participants.
Speaking on the theme of the discussion, Dr. Puja talked about the need for bringing changes in strategies of HR professionals for making workplace more productive and employee friendly. She also discussed about the new expectations of the employers from their employees under the current circumstances. Speaking next, Dr. Shad Ahmad focused on the basic governance of countries which used a pro-active approach by prioritizing their health care sector and education sector perfectly that aided them to combat COVID-19 in an efficient manner. At last Dr. Arjita talked about how to restore peace of mind bring happiness in life during this pandemic situation and iterated on the need of right thought process and a positive attitude to have a perfect physical and psychological well being even during the adverse times.
While concluding the session, Dr. Aneet Bedi, Director, GJIMT, Mohali presented with a formal vote of thanks to all the eminent speakers, delegates and participants who contributed in a fruitful and insightful discussion on the theme. She also thanked and congratulated the organizers of the event Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Dean Academics, GJIMT & Dr. Rakhee Dewan, Asstt. Prof., GJIMT and their entire team for the success of the event. The entire panel discussion was gracefully moderated by Mr. Gurdeepak Singh, Director, International Relations & Placements, GJIMT, Mohali. Participants from countries like Oman, Czech Republic, Serbia, Uganda and different states of India appreciated the efforts put in by the entire organizing team to provide them with an opportunity to gain insights into this immensely important and relevant topic in current scenario.
