Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT) celebrated National Youth Day by organizing “Run for Swadeshi” to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and to promote the ideals of youth empowerment, self-reliance, patriotism, and physical fitness.
The programme commenced with motivational addresses by students highlighting leadership, national pride, and the relevance of Swadeshi values in contemporary society.
The major attraction of the event was a 5 km marathon, which was flagged off by Ms. Isha Gupta, District Youth Officer, Mohali, whose presence added inspiration and significance to the occasion. Ms. Gupta delivered a motivational talk to students on the occasion.
Around 40 students participated enthusiastically in the run, while 8 faculty members and volunteers ensured smooth coordination, discipline, and safety throughout the event.
The event was successfully organized by NSS, NCC, Sports and Rotaract Clubs, fostering unity, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle among the youth and making the National Youth Day celebration meaningful and impactful.
