Equal Opportunity Cell

The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) at GJIMT has been established in accordance with UGC guidelines to promote inclusivity, equity, and diversity on campus. The Cell ensures that students from all sections of society—particularly those belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged groups (SEDG)—have equal access to opportunities, resources, and support systems.

Objectives

  • To create a campus environment based on equity and non-discrimination.
  • To support students from economically weaker sections (EWS), OBC, minorities, and differently-abled groups.
  • To provide financial, academic, and counseling support to disadvantaged students.
  • To organize sensitization and awareness programs on diversity and inclusivity.
  • To address grievances related to inequality or bias in a fair and transparent manner.

Key Initiatives

1. Support for Socially & Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG)

The EOC provides targeted support for students facing financial or social barriers, including:

  • Chairman’s Scholarship Fund: Financial assistance for meritorious and needy students.
  • Guidance for availing government scholarships and schemes.
  • Counseling and mentoring to help disadvantaged students succeed academically and professionally.

2. Awareness & Sensitization Programs

Workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions are regularly organized to sensitize the campus community on inclusivity, equity, and diversity.

3. Grievance Redressal

Students may confidentially approach the EOC for redressal of issues related to inequality or discrimination.
