Venue: Conference Room, GJIMT Campus
The Eco Club of GJIMT successfully organized an impactful event on Global Recycling Day under the theme “Conserve Today, Preserve Tomorrow: Environmental Sustainability in Action.”The initiative aimed to promote environmental consciousness, responsible waste management, and sustainable practices among the campus community.
A total of 62 students and 10 faculty members actively participated in the day-long activities.
The event began with a Recycling Awareness Seminar, where students gained insights into waste segregation, recycling techniques, and the significance of reusing and repurposing materials. The session emphasized the urgency of adopting environmentally responsible habits for a sustainable future.
Following the seminar, students enthusiastically took part in a natural waste collection drive conducted both on campus and in nearby areas. Participants collected dry leaves, paper waste, plastic, and other disposables, which were later segregated into recyclable and non-recyclable categories to ensure responsible disposal. This practical activity helped reinforce the importance of hands-on environmental action.
The celebration proved to be highly educational and inspiring, strengthening the commitment of the GJIMT community toward building a cleaner and greener environment. The Eco Club expressed gratitude to the institutional leadership for their continuous support in promoting sustainability initiatives.
