On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the Cultural Committee of GJIMT organized “Lafzan Di Mehfil”, a Punjabi Poem Recitation Competition, to celebrate the beauty, richness, and cultural significance of the mother tongue, Punjabi.
The 2 day event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 50 students along with 8 faculty members, creating a vibrant literary atmosphere. Students recited original compositions as well as poems by renowned Punjabi poets, beautifully expressing emotions, cultural identity, and social values. Participants were evaluated on content and theme, clarity of expression, confidence, originality, and overall presentation.
The competition concluded with the announcement of winners:
🥇 1st Position: Avneet Singh (BCA-IIA)
🥈 2nd Position: Raghveer Singh (BCA-IVB)
🥉 3rd Position: Armaandeep Kaur (BBA-IV)
The programme concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing pride in linguistic heritage and encouraging students to preserve and promote their mother language.
