Anti-Ragging Committee
Ensuring a Safe and Respectful Campus Environment at GJIMT

At GJIMT, we are committed to providing a safe, secure, and inclusive environment for all our students. In line with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, the institute has established an Anti-Ragging Committee to prevent, prohibit, and promptly address any instance of ragging on campus.

What is Ragging?

As per UGC regulations, ragging includes any conduct—by words spoken or written, or by an act—that causes teasing, annoyance, discomfort, psychological harm, or physical injury to a student. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and is treated as a criminal offence.

Objectives of the Committee

  • To create a ragging-free environment on campus.
  • To spread awareness among students about the legal consequences of ragging.
  • To monitor and take preventive measures against ragging in classrooms, hostels, and all areas of the campus.
  • To take immediate action on complaints and recommend disciplinary measures as per UGC and institutional guidelines.

Functions

  • Ensure compliance with UGC anti-ragging regulations.
  • Regularly interact with students to promote a culture of mutual respect.
  • Provide a safe channel for students to report incidents.
  • Conduct awareness sessions, orientation programs, and surprise checks.
