Women Empowerment Committee
The Women Empowerment Committee (WEC) at GJIMT is dedicated to promoting gender equality, empowering women, and creating a safe and inclusive campus environment. The committee works to support female students, faculty, and staff through awareness programs, mentorship, skill development, and leadership initiatives.
Objectives
- Promote gender equality and inclusivity on campus.
- Encourage leadership, personal growth, and professional development among female students.
- Organize awareness campaigns and workshops on women’s rights, health, and safety.
- Support mentorship and skill-building programs for holistic development.
- Collaborate with other institutional bodies to ensure compliance with UGC and legal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workshops, seminars, and campaigns on gender sensitivity and empowerment.
- Provide guidance and support to female students through mentoring and counselling.
- Promote co-curricular and extracurricular participation to enhance women’s visibility and leadership on campus.
- Encourage students and staff to report gender-related concerns and provide appropriate support and resources.
- Work closely with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to raise awareness about legal rights and complaint mechanisms.
